Code of Conduct
Effective date: July 23, 2026
Tribe exists to help people find their people — to build real, lasting friendships and a genuine sense of belonging. That only works when every space we create, online and in person, feels safe, respectful, and welcoming. This Code of Conduct describes what we expect of one another and what we do when someone falls short. It applies to every member, guest, host, and member of our team, everywhere Tribe brings people together — in our app and chats, at events and venues, and in any Tribe community space. It also covers conduct directed at a Tribe member, guest, or host because of their participation in Tribe, even when that conduct happens on another platform or in person outside a Tribe space.
What we expect of everyone
- Treat others with respect and good faith. Assume the best of people, and give them room to show up as themselves.
- Honor boundaries and consent. Take "no" — or "not right now" — as a complete answer, in conversation, physical space, and contact of any kind.
- Keep our spaces safe. Look out for one another, and speak up if something feels wrong.
- Protect each other's privacy. What members share in Tribe spaces is shared in confidence; do not repeat, publish, or forward it without permission, and do not photograph or record people without their consent.
- Be honest. Give accurate information about yourself, and do not misrepresent who you are.
- Show up for the community. Participate genuinely, follow the direction of hosts and staff, and help make events what they are meant to be.
- Stand behind your guests. If you bring a guest, you are responsible for helping them follow this Code too.
Safety comes first
Your safety and comfort matter to us. If someone's behavior makes you feel unsafe, unwelcome, or disrespected, you do not have to handle it alone — and you never have to justify trusting your instincts. At an event, you can tell a host or a member of our team at any time, discreetly if you prefer. We will take it seriously and take reasonable steps to support your safety while we look into it, consistent with the limits described in our Terms.
How to report a concern
- If you are ever in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency services) first.
- At an event: tell the host or any member of the Tribe team — they are there to help, and you can ask to speak privately.
- Anytime: email safety@tribesocialclub.com for a safety concern (or support@tribesocialclub.com for anything else). We aim to acknowledge a report within one business day.
- You may report on behalf of someone else, and you may ask to remain anonymous. We will protect your privacy to the fullest extent we can while still responding to what you've raised.
- We'll follow up with you, and speaking up in good faith will never put your own standing in the community at risk.
What is not allowed
The following behaviors are never acceptable in a Tribe space — and this applies no matter who is involved, whether a brand-new member, a longtime friend, a host, or a member of our team. This list gives examples; it is not exhaustive, and we may act on any conduct that undermines the safety, trust, or belonging of the community.
- Harassment of any kind — including unwanted attention, following, repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, bullying, or stalking, whether in person, in chat, or across other platforms.
- Sexual harassment or misconduct — unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or contact; sharing intimate or sexual content without consent; or any non-consensual physical contact, including sexual contact with someone who is incapacitated by alcohol or drugs or otherwise unable to consent, or whose ability to consent you knowingly compromised.
- Discrimination, slurs, or hateful conduct directed at anyone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected or personal characteristic.
- Threats, violence, or intimidation, or encouraging others to harm someone.
- Ignoring clearly communicated boundaries, including continuing contact after someone has asked you to stop.
- Sharing another person's private information — including their identity, contact details, photos, or anything they shared in a Tribe space — without their consent ("doxxing"), covertly tracking someone's location, or photographing or recording people without consent.
- Tampering with, spiking, or facilitating the non-consensual administration of alcohol or any substance to another person.
- Using Tribe or its members for unsolicited commercial solicitation, recruiting, spam, or to move members off-platform in ways that undermine the community.
- Being impaired to the point of endangering yourself or others, or providing alcohol or substances to anyone underage.
- Bringing a weapon to a Tribe event or venue, except as permitted by law and the venue's policy.
- Damaging venues or property, or endangering the safety of a space or the people in it.
- Retaliating against anyone for reporting a concern in good faith, discouraging someone from reporting, or knowingly making a false report to harass or target another member.
- Misrepresenting your identity or eligibility, or attempting to circumvent a suspension or removal.
How we respond
We review reports in good faith and respond to the behavior, not the person's identity. Depending on what happened, we may reach out to understand the situation, ask someone to change their behavior, issue a warning, restrict access to certain spaces or events, temporarily suspend a membership, or end a membership. Where someone's presence poses a risk to others, we may act immediately — including removing them from an event or space — while we look into it. Except in those immediate-risk situations, we will typically give a member a chance to respond before ending their membership for cause. We aim to be fair, consistent, and proportionate; we will let you know once we have acted on a report you made; and we will explain a decision to the affected member to the extent privacy and safety allow.
We hold everyone to the same standard here — members, guests, hosts, and our own team, no exceptions. Our decisions are based on conduct — never on race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic. The test we hold ourselves to is simple: we act on what a person did, not on who they are.
Effect on your membership
Membership is a revocable license, as described in our Terms. If we suspend or end a membership because someone violated this Code, we do it to protect the community — not as punishment for its own sake. As our Terms describe, membership fees already paid are not refunded in these cases.
Questions and appeals
If you believe we got a decision wrong, you may ask us to review it within 14 days by emailing appeals@tribesocialclub.com. Wherever possible, someone who was not part of the original decision will review it, and we aim to respond within five business days. We want to get these decisions right, and we take your perspective seriously.
Changes to this Code
We may update this Code of Conduct from time to time as our community grows. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let members know. Your continued participation in Tribe means you agree to the current version.
